Mike's Betty Diorama
My son Mike wanted to do a diorama with Betty while she was here. If any of you have tried to make a photo story with a six-year-old, you'll know what kind of technical difficulties I have. Continuity was a problem. Mike had a tendency to run off with the jeeps in between shots. The first day he didn't want to be outside, and the second day he didn't want to be inside. He also tried to drag out the production by several more days. I wrapped it up after two before my temper exploded. We did have a good time. I may have to write a script for the next time when he's a year older.
"The informant said the Goodie-two-shoes would be playing with the dune buggy today.
I will capture Betty fur mein liebling."
"Ah! There they are now. Right on time."
Hawk: "Betty, have you driven a dune buggy before?"
Betty: "Of course. She is a sweet little buggy, isn't she."
Hawk: " Take it slow and easy until you familarize yourself with the terrain."
Jet: " I see now why you haven't called me, Rich."
Betty:" Wheeee!"
Hawk:"Well she didn't listen to a word I said. "
Rich: "Well, you are full of hot air most of the time, Hawk."
Hawk:' Just keep up with her. She's getting too far ahead."
Betty: "I need to have Johnny get me one of these babies as a home coming present. Hee Hee!"
"Betty should be coming around the bend any minute."
"Team 1 and....
...Team 2 are in place."
"So is the decoy."
"Ah, here comes Betty, Her friends are too far behind to help her. My plan is going perfectly. She is going too fast to avoid the decoy. "
Hawk:" I smell trouble. Step on it Rich."
Jet:"Look out Betty!"
Betty: "What in the world? Where did that come from? SCCreeeeccHHHH! Craaassssh!

We need to give Betty a chance to catch her breath.
OK, Betty's ready again.
On with the story.
Betty: " What a ride. I seem to be ok. I hope the buggy is too. What was that little car doing in the road?"
Betty: "Let's see if I can get out of this thing."
Betty: "Uh Ohhh!
"Hands up, Betty.
You're coming with us!"
Get in the jeep, if you know what's good for ya."
Betty: Where are you taking me?"
Bad Guy: "Keep your mouth shut. "
Bad Guy: "Let's go boys!"
"Sehr gut! My plan is working perfectly. Mein Liebling will be pleased.
Team 2 is leaving with Betty. Where is Team 1?"
"Die Dummkopfe. Leave the dune buggy and get away. "
"Sehr Gut! The Buggy is back upright. Gott in Himmel! They are arguing about who will drive it."
"It's too late for Team 1. The Goodie-two-shoes have them. Liebling will not be pleased."
"Die dummkopfe!"
Hans appears to be a bit peaved. Heheheh!
Let's go see what Team 2 is doing.
Shall we?
Officer Taylor: " Everyone load up. We need to catch up with the jeep the has Betty!"
Bad Guys:" Step on it! We have company!"
Officer Taylor:" There they are. Let's go!"
Fred:" I'm coming too!"
Officer Taylor: "We're gaining on them! Watch out for bumps. We don't want to damage an axle."
Bad guys: "Watch out for the bumps! We don't have seat belts back here.
( BUMP ) Arrgghh!" ( Thud)
Bad Guy:" Wait, Don't leave me!"
Fred:" I have you now! Cowabunga!"
"Oooofffff!"

Fred: "You're under arrest."
Officer Taylor: "Fred, when you get that guy secured. Help us cut off the jeep."
Officer Taylor: " We're almost there."
(Add chase scene music of your choice here!)
(BUMP) "Aarrgggh!"
( Another one bites the dust. Hey hey!..... )
Officer Taylor: "We have you surrounded. Put your hands up!"
Betty: " How dare you piont gunds at me and take me for bumpy rides."
Betty: HHiiYYaahhh!
Bad Guy: "Help! Get this crazy woman off me!"
Officer Taylor: ( Hmmm, How longer should I let Betty pound him before I break it up? Decisions. Decisions!)
Hawk: "I'll cover you , Officer, while you cuff him."
Opps!
Another Cuteness alert!
Mike was checking out the camera.
Officer Taylor: " You're under arrest!"
Officer Taylor: "He's had enough, Betty. Get off him so I can put the cuffs on him!"
Police Officer: "You're under arrest! Thanks for your assistance, Hawk."
With all the bad guys captured and everything under control. Peace returns to the Gearhart's backyard.
Our heroes drive off into the sunset.

Betty: "Do you always have this much excitement here. First an invisible peeping Tom, and now a kidnapping at gun point.
I wonder what's next.""
